According to Jeff Caves New New Jersey Nets assit coach Larry Kryskowiak said he was never offered BSU job and wasnt told why he didnt get it.

Does this surprise anyone. Bleymaier always has and always will be a dewsh. Ask Tom Mason and Al Borges about him. Coach Rice you better get all those promises in writing Gene made to you.

Yeah, I wasn't offered the job, and I didn't get it, either!

A couple of basketball failures include Jensen, Graham and Leach who were top notch D-1 assistants. In Krysko you were getting a guy who had been a head coach in the CBA, D-1 and the NBA. He was successful everywhere but the NBA as a head coach. Seems like a no brainer to me.

Leon Rice was the perfect choice. That was the "no brainer".

Krysko has won more NCAA games as a head coach than Leon Rice. Hell Greg Graham and Rod Jensen have won as many NCAA tournament games as Leon Rice. Nice hire Gene. Way to whiff.

You're an 18 year old kid who would you rather play for an ex NBA player and head coach or a decent college coach in Rice. No kid wants to be an accountant they want to go to the show. I think Krysko has the goods to get a kid to the next level.

Horseshit. They want to play for a guy that is going to get them to the NCAA tournament every year. Rice knows how to do that. Just because he's never been a head coach doesn't mean shit. Tom Izzo was merely an assistant coach when he was hired by Michigan State. Mark Few was just an assistant when Gonzaga hired him.

That Krysko has floated between so many jobs in the past decade is not a good sign.

Rod Jensen, Dave Leach and Greg Graham were well pedigreed assistant coaches too. I realize we all need to start somewhere but this should have been a no-brainer for Bleymaier. Krysko was offered the Utah head job and turned it down when the Bucks gave him their head job. He passed the test at Utah, why not with Bleymaier?

I think Rice will do just fine after he gets his players in. This next year could be a stinker as he has no talent.

Rice might have the brains and skill to pull it off.

Krysko would have been a sure thing. But Larry has an ego and so does Gene and it wouldn't have worked out between the two of them.

That fucker Bleymaier could have had Bobby Knight for the job if would have swallowed some of that ego. George Karl applied for the job three times when it was open and no interview, Marty Holly applied for the job when Jensen was canned and no interview. Gene's skills are amazing.

Gene's not going anywhere as long as football goes great guns. That is unless he pulls a John Franden and sends a campus wide email telling everyone what a dewsh Kustra is.

I remember when Krysko coached the Stampede and worked out at the Y downtown. Seemed like a good guy without a lot of pretense. He acted like he grew up in Shelby, Montana, or wait he did. Whether BSU hired him or not it doesn't matter because the die is cast with Coach Rice. Let's get behind him and hope he brings kick ass hoops to the Valley.
