Can you really call it a Seahawks market when Channel 9 has already given up on them by Week 2? Fox corporate knew better than to schedule them here this Sunday. They tried in Twin Falls and Pocatello, and both said "no thanks." If the Seahawks suck, their games won't be shown here. If the Broncos suck, there's still a really good shot that they will be.

With that being said Miami @ San Diego with almost no national coverage and New England @ Oakland are the other CBS games available. I say this week is a toss up. Detroit at Dallas will be the game to watch over Pittsburgh at Houston. Personally, I'd rather watch New England at Oakland but Denver in Green Bay would be a pretty equal match-up.

We here at Channel 2 know we must seem like a joke being a network television station with college-level production value whose facilities are smaller than the Napa Auto Parts next door. But our logic for choosing games simply caters to the needs and demands of the greater Boise population. And those demands tell us that Denver games bring the highest ratings, even though we're blatant hypocrites of that excuse when we've shown at least one game from the past few seasons that didn't feature Denver when we could've featured them. However we must reiterate our original statement about how we select NFL games and what our viewers in Boise want. The majority of sports fans in Boise are fans of the Denver Broncos. That is undisputed, and we as a television station have an obligation to meet our viewers demands. In turn, the more people watch, the higher our ratings get, and the more money our owner Fisher makes. It's a win-win concept. Again if you are unhappy with our NFL programming we hope you will at least continue to rely on KBOI2News to satisfy your appetite for all your news, weather, and sports.
